Omega Core Audit Light

Overview

Omega Core Audit Light provides an out-of-box, software-only security and compliance solution that helps customers approach the complex and difficult security challenges in the Oracle database systems today; protecting against outsider and/or insider threats, unauthorized access and informational breaches or manipulation; this by enforcing strong security controls and duty separation, in meeting regulatory compliance requirements, those being external or internal.

Omega Core Audit Light edition is a simplified implementation of the Omega Core Audit (the full edition), that integrates the Oracle database audited events information with external SIEM-like systems for tamper-proof storage, reporting, alerting and analyses.

It is a 100% Oracle PL/SQL solution, installed inside the Oracle database and working as an Agent that continuously monitors the databases:

• Standard (traditional) audit trails
• Fine-Grained audit trails

and then normalizes, unifies, and delivers them to SIEM (Splunk).

Notes:

1. Omega Core Audit Light contains no record storage of its own (in the sense of a repository storing security events).
It has been built to deliver the Oracle database audit trail records to an available external log storage system.
2. Omega Core Audit Light features no application that configures and monitors the Engine and Repository.
3. Splunk SIEM is the first one of such systems to be supported in this initial version. More SIEMs and Central Log Collection systems will be supported in next releases.
