Omega DB Scanner Professional is a security auditing tool and vulnerability assessment scanner for Oracle databases. It has been designed to give the user the automated knowledge in performing the complex task of assessment, evaluation and improvement of the security posture of his mission critical Oracle database.
New Features/Enhancements/Changes in 1.2
1. Scheduled scans highlighted.
Omega DB Scanner Scheduler is available in this release, a Windows NT Service application that features scheduling of target database scan tasks. Scheduler works based on the Repository. In the later a new module, named System Task Scheduler, has been added to satisfy the new NT Service application.
2. E-Mail alert notification highlighted.
A new module named Alert & Notification features e-Mail alerting for scans performed, with summary scan and transactional comparison results data.
3. Automated Integration with Splunk SIEM and others highlighted.
A new module named LMS (Log management systems) is available in this release. It features the automated delivery of scan records to Splunk SIEM through direct TCP connection and record input, using a XML core-to-core (Oracle-Splunk) solution with no need for any third party. Inside Splunk the support is further extended by our next solution Omega DB Scanner App for Splunk.
All SIEMs and Log Collection systems featuring the method above are supported for scan records delivery!
Form Splunk Settings has been deprecated.
Form Splunk Upload remains visually the same, but the functionality under it (transferring scan records to Splunk) is now on performed by the Omega DB Scanner Engine and Repository on Oracle XE, and not by the application as previously.
4. New Role Security Analyst added
A new role – Security Analyst (OMEGADS_SECANALYST in Oracle XE Repository) – has been added in this release. It has Read-Only access in all system areas.
